Knowing how a survey can best serve a consulting project is learned through experience, as are the ins and outs of survey design and administration. Solo consultancies and small firms may not have the capacity or interest to do this on your own, whereas I have years of experience in planning, conducting, and reporting on surveys to meet a range of needs, including:

Online surveys are a powerful tool in consultants’ toolbox—when wielded with care.

  • As part of a thoughtfully designed project, surveys can engage and elicit input from many voices at scale, with the option of being anonymous and the flexibility to participate at their convenience.

  • Surveys can provide a valuable baseline of data upon which to layer more in-depth research, like interviews or focus groups.

  • Surveys can also be used to take ideas or information generated by small groups and test and validate these with a broader and more diverse base of participants.
