With a combined 25 years of experience in a small nonprofit, in a foundation, and in a consulting firm, I have a unique blend of perspectives and a deep understanding of the social sector environment in which these organizations work, communicate, and interact interdependently to affect positive change.

I started my career in nonprofits building “worm jars” for garden-based learning teacher development workshops and wearing many hats, as one does in a small organization, from reception to program to office management and executive support. I worked for seven years in grants management at a small community foundation, learning the structures of institutional philanthropy on a local scale. I spent twelve years in a nonprofit management consulting firm, developing a foundation of theory and practice in organizational development and strategy while serving primarily as a researcher, analyst, and informal marketing and communications coordinator. Today, I am an interdependent consultant who often works as a subcontractor to other consultants where my skills can complement their own to dig deeper, cover more ground, and create greater value for social change organizations.

Since 2018, I have partnered with other mission-driven consultants and organizations as they work to develop strategies, evaluate progress, and cultivate cultures in alignment with their values. Helping put words to work for your mission, I blend maturity with humor, am easy to work with, and deliver consistently high-quality results.

I reside in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking indigenous people represented today by the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band. (Learn about the work of the Amah Mutsun Land Trust.)
