As a social sector professional
and changemaker,
you’re doing important work.I’d like to help you do it with greater ease.
for Nonprofit Consultants
As a freelance consultant, you don’t have the bureaucracy or overhead of a consulting firm, so you have freedom to choose the kinds of projects you want and get to stay streamlined and nimble.
But it can be tough to go it alone. In consulting, the work comes in waves—fits and starts, feast or famine. There are times you could probably use an extra set of hands. That’s where I come in.
Big firms have research associates to share the load and maximize their capacity. I do similar work, but with the experience of having been a valued team player on hundreds of projects since 2006.
I am a subcontractor to independent consultants and small firms to help you flex your capacity to take on bigger or more complex engagements with confidence… or even just to do the researchy bits you don’t love to do.

for Nonprofits
With programs and services demanding the lion’s share of your attention on a daily basis, the research and writing needed for learning and evaluation or marketing and communications can end up taking a back seat… and stalling out.
But documenting your nonprofit’s impact and sharing it with the world isn’t something you can afford to sleep on. Storytelling engages key audiences and helps drive your organization’s resource engine.
I have years of experience writing for, and about, nonprofits and the internal and external factors influencing their work—and I can put those skills to use for you.

for Foundations
Foundations play a crucial role, not only as funders but as knowledge stewards. With a line of sight to the work of many grantee partners and the resources to devote to communications, foundations are uniquely positioned to aggregate and disseminate shared knowledge.
They also have the opportunity, if they have the courage, to ask hard questions and challenge the status quo.
Having spent much of my career working in and with foundations, I’ve written countless proposal summaries, evaluations of grantmaking initiatives, and reports on community needs and solutions. I’d like to write more, especially as a partner to philanthropic organizations that are ready to learn out loud.
